We can assist you with your tasks of daily life to help you live as independently as possible. Our team of caring support workers offer support to make sure your day-to-day routine is achievable and manageable. We understand that each person has different needs and requirements, so we work with you to develop a personalised care plan, describing the exact assistance you require.
Assistance with daily living may include personal care tasks, as well as household tasks. Some examples include:
- Personal care (such as showering, grooming, dressing etc.)
- Following morning routines and getting ready for the day
- Overnight sleepovers for assistance through the night
- Help with household chores (such as cleaning, laundry, dishwashing etc.)
- Basic yard work and gardening
- Assistance with food preparation and meal planning
- Accompanying you into the community (for shopping, appointments etc.)
- Assistance with budgeting and money management
- Support with health and fitness goals

Accessing the Community
Part of achieving your goals is to be active in the community. Our support workers are attentive and encouraging, and take pride in fostering a positive and uplifting attitude.
Community access can include many different activities, foster confidence and be great fun! Some of the ways we can help with community access include:
- grocery and leisure shopping
- attending appointments
- joining a social group
- accessing the library, movies etc.
- joining a sporting group
- trying new hobbies
- and many more!
Community access is important for participants as it is sometimes their only way to socialize or access the many areas and activities in the community. These supports can improve confidence and attitude, and emotional stability. Feelings of isolation can often be overwhelming and in some cases can cause sadness and depression. Our goal is reduce these negative affects and get you out and building interpersonal skills and relationships.
EYDS will work with you, as well as your health care and allied health workers, to assist you in planning your social, community and recreational activities.
